DESIGN, SUPPLY & INSTALLATION

Thomas Steel offers clients a complete solution, including design, workshop detailing, fabrication, protective coating and installation of structural steel. Our highly qualified and experienced workshop detailers utilise the state of the art “Tekla Structure” software to ensure accurate design and drafting of all our projects.

Our fabrication experience and expertise is extremely diverse, covering a wide range of projects including large-scale warehouses, defence facilities (hangars, storage facilities, office accommodation etc.), major shopping centres, schools, hospitals, industrial and commercial buildings, and all types of structural steel fabrication projects. Qualified and certified welders, QA staff and internal NDT testing are all part of our QA management system.

CAPACITY – TECHNOLOGY AND INFRASTRUCTURE

With unrivalled technology, capacity and infrastructure Thomas Steel has become one of northern Australia’s largest steel fabrication and erection companies. Our workshop facility is situated in Townsville’s Bohle industrial estate. Currently we operate from a 2000m² workshop which is situated on a 30,000m² parcel of land which enables us to pre-assemble modules prior to shipping to site.

Thomas Steel has expanded its fabrication capacity through the purchase of a Daito coping robot. This machine processes the steel and scribes cleat locations, which significantly reduces the fabrication labour required in our workshop. All of our fittings are supplied internally through CSF Steel Fabricators plate processing centre which also removes the risk of delays through external suppliers.

Thomas Steel specialises in the design, fabrication and erection of structural steel.

We have the capability and capacity to undertake a wide range of structural steel fabrication projects, from large mining contracts, defence facilities, industrial and commercial buildings to general housing fabrication and metalwork.

From our Townsville workshop, Thomas Steel services Queensland and the Northern Territory, from Brisbane and Alice Springs in the south, to Darwin in the north.
